Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about selling on Ship.you. Learn how free unlimited listings work, what Verified Seller means, how buyers reserve items, and how AI helps you create better listings faster.

Getting Started

What is Ship.you?

Ship.you is a free tool for selling your stuff online without the usual listing work. You photograph your items, AI helps create the listings, and everything goes onto one simple, shareable sale page.

Buyers can browse your items, reserve what they want, and coordinate pickup or shipping depending on how you want to sell. Ship.you is built for packaged goods, travel packages & bundles, physical tickets and merchandise, moving & estate sales, closet cleanouts, storage unit cleanouts, and more.

How does it work?

Take one photo per item. You do not need to write everything from scratch.

Ship.you helps generate a complete listing for each item, including the title, description, suggested price, condition, and other useful details.

Review the listings, edit anything you want, and publish your sale page.

Share one link. Buyers can browse your items, reserve what they want, and follow your selling instructions.

How long does it take to list everything?

Most people can list dozens of items much faster than doing it manually. Instead of writing every title, description, and price from scratch, Ship.you helps create listings from your photos so you can review and publish them quickly.

For sellers clearing out a room, apartment, garage, storage unit, or full household, this can turn a weekend of listing work into a much simpler process.

Is Ship.you free?

Yes. Ship.you offers free listings.

You can create and publish listings for free, with unlimited free listings. There are no listing limits, no paid listing tiers, and no subscription required to keep adding items.

Are there paid listing plans?

No. Ship.you does not charge sellers for listing more items.

You can list one item, ten items, or hundreds of items for free.

Can I list unlimited items for free?

Yes. Ship.you gives sellers unlimited free listings.

Whether you are selling a few things from your closet or clearing out an entire home, you can keep adding items without paying per listing.

Verified Sellers

What is a verified seller on Ship.you?

Ship.you has one seller verification type: Verified Seller.

A Verified Seller is a seller who has completed Ship.you’s verification process. This helps buyers know they are dealing with a real seller and gives your listings more trust.

Are there different levels of verified sellers?

No. Ship.you keeps it simple.

There is only one type of verified seller: Verified Seller.

There are no bronze, silver, gold, premium, or paid verification tiers.

Do I need to pay to become a verified seller?

No. Seller verification is not a paid listing plan.

Ship.you is built around free listings and a simple seller experience. Once a seller completes the verification process, they can be shown as a Verified Seller.

Selling Your Stuff

Is it even worth selling my stuff, or should I just donate everything?

It depends on how many items you have and how quickly you need them gone.

The traditional way of selling can take a lot of time. You have to photograph every item, write descriptions, research prices, post listings, answer messages, and coordinate pickup or shipping. That is why many people give up after a few listings and donate the rest.

Ship.you makes selling easier by helping you turn photos into listings quickly. When the effort drops, more items become worth selling. A $30 lamp, $40 chair, or $25 appliance may not feel worth an hour of work, but it may be worth listing when the process is fast and free.

If you were about to donate everything, try listing it first. You may be surprised what buyers want.

How is Ship.you different from Facebook Marketplace?

Facebook Marketplace is usually built around selling one item at a time. You write the listing, manage messages, answer repeated questions, and keep track of who contacted you first.

Ship.you is built to make selling many items easier. You can create a sale page with all your items in one place, share one link, and let buyers browse everything together.

You can still use Facebook Marketplace alongside Ship.you. Create your listings on Ship.you, then share your Ship.you link in Facebook posts, local groups, texts, emails, or anywhere buyers might find you.

What about Craigslist, OfferUp, Nextdoor, and other platforms?

You can still use them.

Ship.you can act as your central sale page. You can post on Craigslist, OfferUp, Nextdoor, local Facebook groups, group chats, or community boards, then direct buyers to your Ship.you page where they can see everything you have for sale.

That way, you get the audience of multiple platforms while keeping your listings organized in one place.

Can I use Ship.you for a garage sale or yard sale?

Yes.

Photograph the items you plan to sell, create your listings, and share your Ship.you sale page before the sale starts. Buyers can preview what you have, check prices, and decide what they want before they arrive.

This is especially useful if you have a lot of items and do not want to hand-write price tags for everything.

Can I use Ship.you for an estate sale?

Yes.

Estate sales often involve a large number of items across a whole household. Ship.you is designed to make that easier by letting you create many listings and share them from one sale page.

You can also have one person photograph items while another reviews, edits, or manages the sale page.

What if an item does not sell?

That is up to you.

You can lower the price, keep the item listed, move it to another platform, give it away, donate it, or remove it from your sale page.

Because Ship.you listings are free and unlimited, you do not have to worry about wasting a paid listing on an item that takes longer to sell.

I have stuff in a storage unit I have been paying for. Can Ship.you help?

Yes.

Storage units can become expensive quickly. If you are paying monthly for items you no longer need, Ship.you can help you list them quickly and share everything from one page.

Photograph the items, create listings, publish your sale page, and start clearing out the unit.

Pricing Your Items

How does Ship.you help with pricing?

Ship.you can help you create a starting price based on the item, category, condition, and likely buyer interest.

The suggested price is not final. You stay in control and can raise it, lower it, or set your own price at any time.

How accurate is pricing?

Pricing depends on the item.

Common products and recognizable brands are easier to price because there are more comparable items. Unique, vintage, handmade, rare, or heavily used items may need more seller judgment.

Treat any suggested price as a starting point, not a rule.

What do used items typically sell for?

Used item prices vary by category, condition, brand, demand, and location. Some rough ranges:

Upholstered furniture, such as sofas and chairs, often sells for 15–30% of retail.

Wood furniture, such as tables, dressers, and bookshelves, often sells for 20–40% of retail.

Popular flat-pack or recognizable furniture brands may sell for 20–50% of retail, depending on condition and demand.

Electronics often sell for 30–50% of retail, but they can depreciate quickly.

Small appliances often sell for 20–40% of retail.

Exercise equipment often sells for 30–60% of retail.

Tools often sell for 40–60% of retail.

The biggest mistake sellers make is pricing based only on what they originally paid instead of what buyers are willing to pay now.

Buyers, Reservations, Pickup, and Shipping

Do buyers need to create an account?

Buyers can browse your Ship.you sale page and view your items without needing a complicated setup.

Depending on the reservation or purchase flow, buyers may need to verify basic contact information so sellers can communicate with real buyers and avoid spam.

How do buyers reserve an item?

Buyers choose the item they want and follow the reservation or purchase instructions on your Ship.you page.

The goal is to reduce back-and-forth messages and help sellers keep track of buyer interest in one place.

How does pickup work?

You decide how you want pickup to work.

You can provide pickup instructions, available pickup times, or other details that make sense for your sale. Buyers can then follow your instructions after reserving or purchasing an item.

Can I offer shipping?

Yes, if you want to.

Ship.you can be used for local pickup, shipping, or a mix of both depending on how you want to sell. For items that are easy to ship, you can include shipping details in the listing. For large furniture or local-only items, you can mark the item for pickup.

What if a buyer does not show up?

You can move on to another buyer, update the listing, or make the item available again.

Ship.you helps keep your items organized so you are not relying only on scattered text messages, social media comments, or notes to remember who wanted what.

Privacy and Safety

Is my address kept private?

Yes. You should only share your exact pickup address when you are ready for a specific buyer to pick up an item.

Your public sale page should not need to show your full street address. You can share general location details, such as city or neighborhood, and provide exact pickup information only when appropriate.

Is Ship.you safe to use?

Ship.you is designed to make selling more organized and reduce unnecessary back-and-forth with strangers.

Seller verification helps buyers identify trusted sellers, and keeping your listings on one page helps you manage interest more clearly.

As with any online marketplace, use common sense: meet in a safe location when possible, do not share unnecessary personal information, and only provide your exact address when you are comfortable with the buyer and pickup plan.

AI and Listing Accuracy

How does AI generate listings from photos?

Ship.you uses your item photos to help identify what the item is and create a useful listing draft. This may include a title, description, category, condition notes, and other details that help buyers understand the item.

The listing is always yours to review and edit before publishing.

How can I improve the accuracy of my listing?

Start with clear, well-lit photos.

Photograph the whole item, any important details, and any flaws buyers should know about. If the item has a brand label, model number, size tag, serial plate, or product sticker, include a photo of that too.

You can also manually add details the AI may not know, such as brand, model, age, measurements, condition, original price, missing parts, damage or wear, and pickup or shipping details.

The more useful information you provide, the better the final listing will be.

Can I edit AI-generated listings?

Yes.

AI gives you a draft, but you stay in control. You can edit the title, description, price, condition, photos, pickup details, shipping details, and anything else before publishing.

What if the AI gets something wrong?

You can fix it before publishing.

AI is helpful for speeding up the listing process, but it may not always identify every item perfectly. Always review your listing before making it public, especially for brand names, dimensions, model numbers, condition, and price.
